You will meet your own tour guide, who is qualified for the tour, who will accompany you with the driver and a special vehicle to one of the most gorgeous sites in Egypt and yet in the whole world, the Sinai desert. The drive takes around five hours from Cairo.
The Mount Sinai Sunrise Hiking Tour is one of the most unusual trips in Egypt among our Egypt hiking and trekking tours to watch the sunset at the top of Mount Moses and then return in the morning to visit the Monastery of Saint Catherine, one of the oldest monasteries in the world, built during the 6th-century by the order of Empress Helen, mother of Emperor Constantine. The Monastery of Saint Catherine is located in South Sinai at a distance of 230 km from the city of Sharm el-Sheikh, next to the monastery is Mount Saint Catherine, which is the highest mountain in Egypt, with a height of 2671 meters, and from the east of the monastery is Mount Mousa, which has a height of 2285 meters.
We will start around 12:00 pm from the Bedouin Guesthouse passing through the back-way, a peaceful and calm valley. We will be passing by large olive woods. Then, the route will be connecting with the principal visitor's trail, yet, the scenery of the sunrise will be an exceptional experience. We will descend the mount through the Stairs of Repentance which is said to have been made within a rocky canyon by a priest in order to lose your sins while using the stairs, back to the camp, and overnight after dinner.
On the next morning, we will be visiting the Monastery of Saint Catherine in the morning to explore the place dedicated to one of the most notable saints of Christianity in Egypt, Saint Catherine who is said to be a great martyr of Alexandria.
We will then take the vehicle and start heading back to Cairo after our Egypt hiking tours are done.
