After having your first hearty breakfast at the hotel, your guide will greet you in the lobby and take you to the most exciting place in Egypt, the Pyramids of Giza, where you will see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing, the Middle Pyramid of King Chephren, and the smallest pyramid, which was built for King Mycerinus. Explore the Great Sphinx, which is the largest but not the only monument in the Giza necropolis and is shaped like a lion with a human head to represent strength and intelligence. Walk around the area.
After your visit to the Pyramids of Giza, you will continue your tour of the Egyptian Museum by visiting the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, which was founded in 1902 and houses the oldest artifacts ever discovered in human history, including more than 120,000 tools and implements used in daily life by the ancient Egyptians, huge coffins, enormous statues and the gold collection of King Tutankhamun.
You will then have lunch at a nearby fine restaurant before continuing your day trip to Egypt with an educational tour of Coptic Cairo, home to some of the oldest Coptic churches in the Middle East.
It is believed that this area, like others in Egypt, served as a shelter for the holy family when they were fleeing persecution in Jerusalem.
Before transferring to your accommodation for the night, see the Hanging Church of the Holy Virgin Mary, also known as the Church of Abu Serga, the Church of St. Sergius, and the historic Jewish synagogue of Ben Ezra. Overnight in Cairo hotel.
