Breakfast will be served on board. Afterward, you will prepare to meet your knowledgeable tour guide to begin your Aswan excursions. The High Dam, which was built by Gamal Abdel Nasser, the former Egyptian president, to hold back water and then generate a large amount of electricity, will be our first visit on the tour. We will then board a speedboat to Philae Temple, which was established in the 3rd century BC as a center of worship for the goddess Isis in Greco-Roman times.
The Unfinished Obelisk, discovered in a granite quarry in the southern region of Aswan, will be our next site. We will return to our Esmeralda Nile Cruise Ship after the day's excursion for a delicious lunch. In the evening, you can rest on board or join an optional excursion to see the sound and light show at Philae Temple, where you can learn more about the temple and the kings who left their treasures there. After that, we will return to our Nile cruise for the night.
