Today, we will visit the necropolis at Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid complex of King Djoser, the 2nd ruler of Egypt during the 3rd dynasty, the pyramid is the first example of a stone structure in history that was built by the genius architect Imhotep.
We will also see the pyramid of King Teti and enter one of the tombs of the nobles beside the pyramid, the tomb of Kagemni who was the son-in-law of King Teti and the vizier of Justice during the 6th dynasty.
Transfer now to the ancient capital of Egypt during the old and the middle kingdom, Memphis. All that remains now is an open-air museum that exhibits interesting artefacts of which the most impressive are the alabaster sphinx of Memphis and the colossal statue of King Ramses II who ruled during the 19th dynasty of Egypt's new kingdom and is considered one of the most important kings.
Transfer now to one of the local good quality restaurants to have lunch and move to the heart of Cairo where most of the Islamic Cairo trips take place, Khan El Khalili bazaar to have the chance to buy souvenirs and enjoy the traditional tea-mint in a local cafe. Transfer back to the hotel and overnight.
