After breakfast and check-out, you will resume your Siwa Oasis tour from Cairo and you will be accompanied by your tour guide to the Mountain of the Dead "Gabal al Maouta", which is located 1 km outside Siwa and is full of ancient tombs of the rulers of Siwa Oasis during the twenty-sixth dynasty. The mountain has a limestone floor, and the tombs are carved in the shape of a beehive. Niperpathot, Si-Amon, Mesu Isis, and the Crocodile Tomb are among the notable tombs worth visiting.
You will then take a tour of the remarkable sites in and around Siwa, starting with the temple of The Oracle or the Temple of Alexander the Great. It was built on the plateau of Aghurmi (about 4 km east of Siwa city).
Its ruins now display exquisite drawings and carvings tracing the history of the temple, as well as a representation of the god Amun Ra. The temple is remarkable because Alexander the Great is said to have stayed there. Then visit the Siwa House Museum to learn about Siwan's distinct culture, followed by lunch at Abdo restaurant in the Oasis' famed square overlooking Shali.
Afterward, we will go to Cleopatra Spring, also known as "Ein Guba", a natural stone pool fed by a hot spring, where the Queen of Egypt is said to have swum during her visit to Siwa. You can now take a refreshing dip after a hot day of sightseeing and also enjoy a cup of coffee or tea or taste one of their fresh juices.
Then you will go on and start the Egypt Desert Safari adventure exploring the Great Sand Sea. Visit the hot and cold springs of Bir Wahid by Jeep 4×4 (Jeep Land Cruiser safari). Watch the beautiful desert sunset while sipping Bedouin tea. The huge sand sea of Siwa offers the best dune surfing in the world. Then you will be driven to your hotel for the night.
Overnight in Siwa.
