Breakfast is the perfect time to enjoy a traditional morning tea with mint made by the locals. After that, we'll head to the oasis of Farafra, where you can enjoy the sulfur-hot water spring of Bir Setah, or Setah Well.
You'll also have a chance to visit the local artist Badr's unique mud brick museum and the old town of Al Qasr before driving from Farafa to Dakhla for about three hours to visit the Roman Temple of Deir El Hagar in the middle of the desert.
The temple dates back to the 26th dynasty and was created by some of the most legendary Roman emperors. You can check out some of Egypt’s most beautiful rock-cut tombs at the Roman burial ground of El Muzawwaqqa.
After lunch, take a stroll through the quaint Islamic village of Al Qasr. Its history dates back to the 12th century, and visitors can see interesting old houses in narrow alleys, an old oil press, an old wheat grinder, an old courthouse, and a medieval prison. Additionally, there are old schools and Ayyubid mosques here.
You'd also like to spend the day relaxing by a pool-like hot spring before visiting the green Dakhla Farms, full of golden sand dunes and clear blue skies overhead. To enjoy the sunset at the edge of the Great Sand Sea, we will be spending the day at the hot spring resort of Oasis Hot Springs, where you'll be able to relax and enjoy the natural wonders of the area. Then, after dinner, head over to the Dakhla Farms to see the amazing sand dunes and stunning sunset.
If you're looking for a romantic getaway, consider spending the night at the Desert Lodge Hotel in Dakhla. You'll be able to see the lush green village and the beautiful Rose Mountains, all from the top of the cliff.
