Being a Cairo resident means that we've been in most of the city's various hotels at some point, and we frequent these same numerous hotels very frequently for dining, entertaining, socialising, swimming, drinking, attending weddings, and attending mind-numbingly dull conferences.
In other words, when it comes to Cairo hotels during your Egypt trips, we are knowledgeable. The good news is that Cairo's high-end hotels are significantly less expensive than those in the US and Europe.
So, if you've always wanted to stay in a 5-star hotel during your Egypt luxury tours but thought the price was simply too much, Cairo might be the destination where you can treat yourself for less money than you would anywhere else. Based on our analysis, we created a list of the top hotels in Cairo.
The Best Five-Star Hotels in Cairo
1. Sofitel Gezirah
Place: Zamalek
One of our favourite hotels in Cairo is the Sofitel Gezirah for a number of reasons. There is no such thing as a terrible view there because it is a genuine tower situated just on the point of an island in the middle of the Nile. You are not permitted to gaze out at the side of a brick structure.
Second, the majority of their restaurants are situated right next to the water; all you have to do to go to the river from your dinner table (though I'm not sure you'd want to) is reach down.
Local tip: On weekends, their Moroccan restaurant features live Arabic music and a belly dancer, so grab a drink and a shisha next to the Nile and prepare to be entertained.
What do we love about this hotel? its proximity to both Zamalek nightlife and the Egyptian museum which you can visit during your cairo day tours
2. Four Seasons Nile Plaza
Location: Garden City
I don't know about you, but the Four Seasons always makes us feel posh.
The Four Seasons Nile Plaza has all the amenities you'd expect from a five-star hotel, including fantastic restaurants, fantastic shopping (they have a store named Beymen), views of the Nile, fantastic service, etc.
Cairo is an excellent place to start if you've always wanted to visit a Four Seasons hotel.
Local tip: There is a second Four Seasons in Cairo, the Four Seasons First Residence (in Giza), but in our opinion, the Four Seasons Nile Plaza is the superior option.
What do we love about this hotel? their restaurants are deserving of praise. and it is located near to many sightseeing you can take one our tours to Giza pyramids and Egyptian museum day tour.
3. Semiramis Intercontinental
Location: Garden City
Despite being a little more dated than the other hotels on this list, we still adore The Semiramis, one of Cairo's most established hotels.
local tip: The hotel is literally located on Tahrir Square, so the location is fantastic. It views out over the Nile on one side and Tahrir Square on the other. Cairo Museum is also reachable on foot in five minutes during your Egypt day tours.
What do we love about this hotel? their rooftop pool and restaurant Pane Vino, which features an outdoor terrace where you can have a shisha while dining al fresco. The Thai restaurant there, Bird Cage, is also fairly reliable.

You guys, this hotel boasts the area's *best* view of the Giza pyramids, you can visit the pyramids upon arrival and check-in at the hotel during our half-day tour of Giza pyramids, bar none. Other hotels around the Pyramids are not our favorites either, but that is a separate discussion for another time.
Who wouldn't want to swim while admiring a historic wonder of the world? We shall wait.
What do we love about this hotel? The Mena House was originally built as a royal lodge for the Khedive Ismail to use after hunting in the desert or visiting the Pyramids so that he or his visitors might rest. After being sold to a British couple in 1869, it was later transformed into a hotel in 1887.
5. Hotel Kempinski Nile
Location: Garden City
With the exception of Villa Belle Epoque, which is an "actual" boutique hotel, Kempinski has a cute boutique-like vibe compared to the other top contenders on this list.
It is also located in Garden City, adjacent to Tahrir Square and the Cairo Museum, and is directly on the Nile.
What do we love about this hotel? while being small, their rooftop pool provides a fantastic outlook. Their Osmanly Turkish restaurant is likewise well-liked by the locals. You can stay at it during your Egypt Christmas tours.
6. Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino
Location: Zamalek
This hotel, which was once a palace, boasts the most beautiful interiors and unique architecture of any place to stay in the city.
The Cairo Marriott was formerly known as the Palace el Gezirah and was constructed by Khedive Ismail in 1869 (indeed, the same year he erected his royal lodge, the current Marriott Mena House). This castle served as a "guest palace" for the ceremonies marking the opening of the Suez Canal and afterward hosted notable figures including Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III.
