We'll have a modern air-conditioned vehicle waiting for you when you arrive in Alexandria port, and our tour leader will take you to Cairo in style.
Our day tour to Saqqara is one of the most interesting and historic archaeological sites in Egypt. It is located in the south of Cairo, and it features a number of ancient Egyptian monuments. Our tour will also include a visit to The Step Pyramid, the Imhotep Museum, the Tomb of Mereruka, and the Ti Tomb. We will also take a break for lunch at a local restaurant.
First, we'll visit The Step Pyramid, which is one of the oldest and most famous monuments at Saqqara. It was built in the 27th century BC for the Pharaoh Djoser and is considered to be the first true pyramid. The pyramid is made up of six steps, and each step is taller than the one below it.
If you're interested in learning more about the brilliant architect Imhotep, be sure to visit The Imhotep Museum. This museum is dedicated to his life and work, and they have a replica of his tomb on display.
We'll also visit The Tomb of Mereruka, which is the largest and most elaborate tomb at Saqqara. It was built for the Vizier Mereruka in the 24th century BC and features over 60 chambers.
After that, we will visit The Tomb of Ti, which is the tomb of Pharaoh Ti, who ruled Egypt in the fourteenth century BC. The tomb is smaller than the others in Saqqara, but still very impressive.
A fascinating journey to the Serapeum! It was unusual to travel down a long tunnel beneath the ground that led to a place where Apis, holy bulls, and several colossal antique sarcophagi were buried.
Our day tour of Saqqara includes visits to all of these amazing sites, and then you'll board a Felucca, a traditional Egyptian boat, at the pier for a leisurely trip along the Nile. There you can enjoy a BBQ lunch while soaking up the sun or experience Cairo's incredible nightlife. Finally, we'll return you back to Alexandria port.
